The real estate industry has been immersed in the digital transformation for several years now, what is known as Proptech, meaning the combination of property and technology, ultimately pushing for more efficient building and workplace systems, which are rooted in new technological advancements that combine the physical and digital worlds.
The rise of PropTech real estate startups is causing a major shift in the industry, leading towards more tech-enabled buildings and work offerings. Proptech startups are the ones making the real estate industry (especially in highly dense cities) better, more efficient and easier to navigate for all parties involved. This profound transformation that has taken place in the real estate sector, regarding innovation and digitalization is what several experts have analyzed in the book “La Revolucion Proptech” (Ed. Gestión 2000), joined by Ivan Vaqué, Forcadell's CEO, who explained how these changes have transformed the Company, launching it into the new digital reality in order to optimize internal processes.
“In FORCADELL we considered digital innovation from a two scope approach: on the one hand, we searched innovation to solve internal optimization of costs and process problems, and on the other hand, we looked for new business opportunities exploring the market in search of projects we weren’t able to develop yet”, explains Ivan Vaqué in the book. Forcadell considered several ways to implement all these formulas, until they found the one that worked the best: the creation of the innovation area, INNOMADS, a proptech and innovation hub of new ideas to improve services, with Mireia García as CEO. As the authors of the book “la Revolución Proptech” highlight, “FORCADELL spearheaded projects in innovation stemming from their external innovation strategy.” It is important to underline, just as Vaqué concludes, that “the transformation means changing the company, not the people in it".
